Flex-Rigid PCBs

Flex-Rigid PCBs, also known as flexible-rigid printed circuit boards, are a type of circuit board that combines both flexible and rigid substrates into a single unit. They are designed to provide a flexible section and rigid sections in a single board, allowing for greater versatility in electronic product design.

Flexibility

Flex-Rigid PCBs offer a flexible section that allows them to bend, fold, or twist, enabling them to conform to non-planar shapes or fit into compact spaces. This flexibility is achieved through the use of flexible substrates, typically made of polyimide or similar materials.

Rigid Sections

Along with the flexible sections, Flex-Rigid PCBs also incorporate rigid sections made of materials like FR4. These rigid sections provide stability, support, and mechanical strength to the overall PCB assembly.
